From year 2: €0.20 per order. You factor the fee into the meal price — KITALE deducts it automatically. No surcharge on your flat rate.
No setup surcharge at the beginning. Setup and training are included.
In numbers: a location with 50 children costs €45 per month. KITALE saves around 6 hours of admin per week (our goal). Depending on the hourly rate, that exceeds the monthly flat rate often within the first working day.
All prices net plus 19% VAT · per facility / month · annual billing. Parents pay no app licence. The meal price is set by the facility and includes a per-order fee of €0.15 (from year 2: €0.20) which KITALE deducts automatically.

The people behind KITALE
People buy from people. KITALE stands on three legs: one builds the platform, one brings the pedagogical depth, one brings it to market.

Marc Baumgartner
Co-Founder & CEO
Marc builds and runs KITALE on the technical side. As CEO and architect of the platform he is behind the multi-tenant architecture, the GDPR-solid setup and the reliable operation on servers in Germany. From security and IT engineering he knows the difference between something that just runs and something that truly holds, and makes sure KITALE delivers in real daycare daily life.

Lena Heidrich
Pedagogical heart
Lena is the pedagogical heart of KITALE. She makes sure the platform not only digitises administration but strengthens the daily work of educators in the group. As a social pedagogue, trained early-childhood educator (Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, focus on early childhood) and lecturer she supports providers and leadership in setting up quality management systems. Right now she is building the pedagogical module in KITALE: AI helps with the phrasing, not with the observation.

Felix Degeler
Co-Founder & Advisor
Felix brings KITALE to market. As Co-Founder and Advisor he owns strategy, product roadmap and go-to-market. More than ten years of work with mid-market companies and the self-employed give him a sharp eye for what parents, educators and providers actually need in their day. Outside of KITALE he is CEO at Degeler Consulting and Co-Founder of Peaceflow.

Answers to the most common questions from provider and administration teams.
What does KITALE actually cost?
Flat rate per facility by size – from €11 (up to 9 children) to €109 (600–799 children), net plus VAT. From 5 facilities a 20% multi-site discount. No setup fee. All features included.
What do parents pay for meals?
The meal price set by your facility – visible in the KITALE wallet. Parents top up their balance via SEPA free of charge; the wallet is charged per order. No separate app fee, no hidden surcharges.
How does caterer billing work?
KITALE collects orders and payments automatically. At the end of the month you receive a complete billing report – number of meals, total amount, broken down by group. You transfer the caterer's share based on their monthly invoice.
What about GDPR and the data processing agreement?
Servers in Germany, GDPR-compliant, AVV (data processing agreement) included. Bring your data protection officer, we run the demo together and answer all questions live.
What if we already use software for some areas?
We model your processes rather than enforcing ours. Catering interfaces, accounting exports, BuT applications: connectable. We clarify integrations one-to-one during onboarding.
How fast does a pilot go live?
Usually 48 hours of setup per site, including data import, role configuration and team training. Rollout to further facilities happens in waves, paced by you.
Do we get provider-level reporting?
Yes. Central provider dashboard with occupancy, meal quotas, BuT applications and financial overview across all sites. Exports as CSV and PDF, consolidated or per-site invoices.
Can facilities be configured differently?
Yes. Multi-tenant architecture: per site, own groups, packages, caterers, languages and branding. Across the provider, reporting stays consolidated.
Next module (in pilot)
Pedagogical layer: observation forms, learning stories (AI helps with the phrasing, not with the observation), development report and a QuaSi-based quality management system. Led by Lena. More news to come.
